Ginger Tea

My first defense when I get a cold is to drive to the store and get three simple ingredients. This yummy recipe doesn’t just kick the cold it also warms you up during to cold season. The following recipe is for ginger tea.

Ingredients:
1) Ginger
2) Lemon juice
3) Honey

Instructions
1. Get a cup of water and put in a pot.
2. Get it to a simmer.
3. Grate a one-inch piece of fresh ginger root in the simmering water.
4. Put a dash of lemon juice in.
5. Let simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
6. After 15 to 20 minutes put into a mug.
7. Add honey to taste.
8. Enjoy.

PS You can chew on the ginger to get added benefits.

Amazing Homemade Laundry Detergent

There seems to be several different ways to make homemade laundry detergent all over the internet. But do any of them really work?  The answer is YES!!! In fact the recipe I am going to share is one even my skeptical mother likes.  My mom is, or should I say was, the type that hated powdered laundry detergent and is wary of my furgal ways.  So when she approves something I know it's a winner.

Here is the recipe:
  • 1 cup Borax
  • 1 cup Washing Soda
  • 1 5.5 oz Bar Soap (grated)
The first step is to grate the soap which is done with a hand grater, but not that hard to do.  A good tip is to open the soap a couple days before grating which makes it much easier.
Isn't this pretty?

Next, put the grated soap in a container and mix with the Borax and Washing Soda. It's just that easy!

Use one to two tablespoons per load.

This was the first time I used Zote Soap because I could not find Fels-Naptha, but any soap will work.  A quick note, washing soda is not the same as baking soda.  All of these ingredients can be found in the laundry section of most stores.

Thank you for looking and please keep checking for updates.  God Bless.
